Stupid criminals of the week

Posted on: March 7, 2011

Today we have a twofer of stupid criminals. The first stupid criminal is from Oregon. He is a suspected car thief. When the police were after him he took off on foot. He flagged down a motorist for a ride. The motorist stopped to pick him up but the motorist just happened to be an undercover police officer. The police were looking for the suspect and recognized the 31-year-old from previous contacts for other crimes.

The undercover police officer gave him a ride – right to jail!

The second stupid criminal is from eastern Kentucky. He stole an ambulance because he just needed a ride home. The ambulance crew was inside a hospital for a few minutes and left the keys in the ignition. When they came out the ambulance was gone. Luckily, police later saw the ambulance being driven erratically and pulled it over. The 26-year-old man driving the ambulance said he took the ambulance because he needed a ride home and he was going to call the ambulance service the next day to report where the vehicle was.

This young man was arrested on DUI and other charges.
