Nancy Pelosi’s “fuzzy” math

Posted on: April 7, 2011

My favorite “the word is the word” Congresswoman, Nancy Pelosi, has struck again. Her people must be moaning and groaning in pain every time she makes these dumb statements. A fantastic article on Hot Air debunked Ms. Pelosi’s claim that six million seniors will starve under the GOP budget.

The article says that a proposed 2.7% reduction to the budget of the Department of Health and Human Services won’t starve six million seniors. The Washington Post did a fact-check and found that only 2.6 million seniors actually receive meals from HHS’s Administration on Aging and the Republican cuts aren’t specified to that program.

But that didn’t stop her people from saying that Ms. Pelosi meant “meals” for senior – 6 million meals. Not quite right. In 2011 the agency is expected to deliver a little over 200 million meals and once again no specific cuts have been mentioned to that program.

Does this mean that Ms. Pelosi made up the numbers? I’m shocked! She can’t even make up a number as she usually does to sound credible. But then again why let facts get in the way when you want to bash the other party.

Liberals can’t be bothered with the facts, especially if they get in the way of the big lie propaganda.
Keep up the great work.
