Obama on the campaign trail talking about immigration law

Posted on: May 10, 2011

Mr. Hope and Change or should I say “Winning the Future”(WTF) is once again campaigning again. Wasn’t he supposed to endorse civility, so why is he still blaming Republicans for his failed policies? I guess since Mr. Bush is long gone he can’t blame him anymore and of course he won’t be blaming himself for not getting a comprehensive immigration bill passed through the Congress when the Democrats ran the government. But then the Democrats didn’t even pass a budget and left it up to the Republicans to pass.

On Tuesday, Mr. Obama was in El Paso, Texas giving a campaign speech where he claimed that the border is more secure than ever. Tell that to those people living on the border if they feel safe. Is he living in the Land of Oz??

In his snarky way Obama said: “We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement. But even though we’ve answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time. Maybe they’ll need a moat,” he said mockingly to laughter from the crowd. “Maybe they’ll want alligators in the moat.”

Well isn’t that so presidential and so civil!

Then he said he would lead a “constructive and civil debate” on the issue but publicly questioned the motives of Republicans
and their ability to keep their word. And Obama went out of his way not to engage Capitol Hill, declining to offer a bill or set a deadline for Congress to produce one. Is your head spinning with this one like mine is? Is blood shooting out of your eyes because of all the mixed messages from Obama?

Mr. President, stop your snarkism, quit pointing your finger at others and man-up and take some leadership on something.
