Art imitates life – The Untouchables

Posted on: June 1, 2011

Do you remember the scene from “The Untouchables” when Sean Connery is faced with a situation where he is facing the bad guy who has a knife and he says, “Leave it to a “wop” to bring a knife to a gun fight.” (My apology to my Italian friends but it was a great line from a really great movie.) And then he pulls out his gun and shoots him down.

Recently, a similar situation happened to a would-be robber in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A robber with a knife tried to rob a man with a handgun. Well you know how that turned out don’t you?

A man was sitting in his car after he washed his car at a local car wash when a man walked up to him and pulled a knife on him demanding his money. The victim reached for what the robber thought was a wallet but was actually a semi-auto handgun. The victim pointed his gun at the robber who then ran like he was on fire!!!

The police could not find the robber but he is described as a Hispanic man about age 25 wearing baggy blue shorts and a dark T-shirt.

I like happy endings!

Yes and it is a cautionary tale for not allowing Congress to take away our second amendment rights.

You might be interested to know that in the military we were trained to either take away a knife from an enemy or force it on him stabbing him to death in the process.

Blessings on you and yours
