Homeowners fight back and foreclose on bank

Posted on: June 6, 2011

A Florida couple was served with papers by Bank of America for defaulting on their mortgage. However, the couple paid cash for their house and never had a mortgage! The couple had all the papers to prove their cash payment and sent it to the bank. However, the bank ignored the information and took the couple to court. This ran up a lot of bills.

The judge in the case then ordered the bank to reimburse the couple for their costs. But when does a bank move fast if they owe you money? Five months later Bank America still didn’t reimburse the couple. What did the couple do? They had their lawyer start foreclosure proceedings on the bank.

The sheriff’s department showed up at the bank to lock the doors, seize the bank’s property and took the cash out of the tellers’ drawers. After about an hour of being locked out the bank, the bank manager handed the attorney a check for legal fees.

Don’t you just love a happy ending?
