Illegal criminal immigrants arrested

Posted on: June 21, 2011

In May 2010, Federal authorities said that they made 78 arrests in Colorado as part of a national crackdown on criminal aliens that threatened public and national security. The main arrests were 29 in Denver, 13 in Aurora, 7 in Commerce City and 29 others across the state.

They arrested a 51-year-old Libyan man living in Denver who had been convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child and domestic violence. The arrests were made during a seven-day sweep by agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE said that the goal was to arrest convicted criminal aliens and track down fugitives who were taking advantage of the U.S. immigration system.

While this is very good news, ICE should also be more aggressive in arresting and sending back illegal aliens crossing our boarders. Stop them at the source and then you would not have to play hide and seek with them later to find out where they are living.
