Please Mr. President, stop scaring Seniors

Posted on: July 12, 2011

In an interview on Tuesday with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, President Obama claims he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3rd if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.

The President said, “I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.” He further went on to say, “This is not just a matter of Social Security checks. These are veterans’ checks; these are folks on disability and their checks. There are about 70 million checks that go out.”

Oh really! According to his Democrat party there is enough money in Social Security for the next twenty plus years. Even Harry Reid said that Social Security is not going broke. But now when Obama wants to raise taxes as well as the deficit he starts scaring Seniors so they will push the Republicans to do what he wants to do. Then he also is scaring veterans who are protecting this country.

Old and tired lies once again from the President. Stop scaring Seniors and our veterans Mr. President. Man up and take care of this
country’s debt responsibly. You got us in this mess it’s up to you to get us out of it. But don’t raise taxes or the debt limit. Be responsible and quit spending our hard earned money.
