In a recent article in the Chicago Sun Times, Jesse Jackson boldly spins his way to the end of his article.  From claiming that “conservatives scorn government until they need it”, to “When we in the movement struggled for social justice, we helped weak presidents become stronger. When we in the movement struggled for social justice, we helped good presidents become great.”

Scary stuff if you ask me. Jesse Jackson only knows how to promote dependence on the government and not on self-actualization.  He furthers blames the GOP, Republicans and even Texas Governor Rick Perry for all the ills of our society. But then says that when they need the Federal Government they are willing to take their help.

This disjointed article goes from hurricane Irene to economic disasters either manmade or natural. As expected, just another type of
rant from Jesse Jackson. He even has a crystal ball and claims: “Now the economy is stalled. President Barack Obama has announced that he will release a jobs agenda in September, a range of ideas that will include extending the payroll tax cut, extending unemployment insurance and investing in infrastructure. Republicans have already called those ideas dead on arrival. Conservatives embrace federal help after natural disasters, but scorn it in the wake of the manmade economic calamity.”

He calls for protests by telling people to get in motion. He says, that those at the top need to hear from those suffering at the bottom.
The unemployed need to march on Washington to demand work. People of faith need to protest against children without adequate food or shelter.

He then ends his article by citing the Reverend Martin Luther King and how his protests changed the country as well as politics. He
says, “In 1960, Martin Luther King supported Kennedy instead of Nixon to prevent America from going backward. Then he marched in the streets of Birmingham to pass the Civil Rights Act to move the nation ahead. In 1964, Martin Luther King supported Johnson instead of Goldwater to prevent America from going backward. Then he marched in Selma to pass the Voting Rights Act to move the nation ahead. For Dr. King, there was no conflict between voting strategically to prevent the triumph of reaction and leading a nonviolent mass movement to pressure a president to achieve profound social change.”

How did all of that “social change” really work out? Take for instance, Johnson who started the welfare state. It took Bill Clinton and
the Republican Congress to stop that social change.

He finally calls for people to dream again, hope again and march again. He says, “The 1963 jobs and justice coalition, labor, civil rights activists, the religious — as well as youths — must reconvene for a summit and then nonviolently and massively take thousands of resumes to Washington. Put a real face on real needs. We can change the course to inclusion again. As Dr. King would often say, what makes America great is that although America is not  always right, we have the right to fight for the right. That is a special genius of our free and open democracy.”

More scary stuff if you ask me. But that is expected from Jesse Jackson who seems irrelevant today to sound thinking people.

Doug Powers had an excellent article about how the word “US Government” is being replaced by the Obama Administration to “Federal Family.”  As Mr. Powers said from “the good hands people” to “like a good neighbor” the administration is playing with poll tested words to make all of us think that help from the U.S. Government is a good thing.

Remember what Ronald Reagan said about the most terrifying words he had heard was “I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.”

The Administration must have been very nervous when hurricane Irene was bearing down on the east coast. They wanted to make sure that Irene was no Katrina and that, in fact, the president and his aides would be seen in compassionate command of the situation.

As Mr. Powers wrote, “That’s when they decided to introduce the most condescending euphemism for the national government in its long history of condescending euphemizing – ‘federal family.’ This new phrase was supposed to make anxious East Coasters feel the love of a caring federal government — tender squeeze from the Department of Homeland Security, a gentle embrace from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The phrase was a centrally distributed talking point, appearing in op-eds, press releases and statements from across the administration. So keep in mind that even if the storm is a category 1, you can expect a caring category 5 embrace from your federal family”

Doesn’t this remind you of propaganda from socialistic country? The only family I need is my immediate family and not the “federal
family.”  Just thinking about it scares the heck out of me!

November 2012 can’t come fast enough for me.

Everybody loves apps for their phones don’t they? So this new Obama Clock App sounds like an interesting app if you like this sort of thing. The app is a countdown to either Barack Obama’s second inauguration or his final days as President of the United States. The application will download and update the following important voter metrics:

His approval rating, the public debt, the unemployment level, gasoline cost per gallon and the housing price index are included in this app. With information like this it just might make you a knowledgeable voter to decide if Obama is reelected or not.

The cost of the app is ninety-nine cents from Trojan Tree and lets you refresh your data simply by pressing Obama’s Trojan Tree Pin. You can also connect with the Obama Clock Facebook Page to stay up to date on the President and share with your friends.

The company is already working on future enhancements.

If you get this app let me know how it works.

This article comes from MSNBC that reported a coordinated network pulled off one of the largest, most complex banking heists ever via cyber space. Back in March of this year, the crime gang withdrew $13 million in one day from ATMs in six countries.

Fidelity National Services Inc. (FIS) located in Jacksonville, Florida was the target of a massive breach. This firm processes prepaid debit cards. This is what happened. The attacker first broke into FIS’ network and gained unauthorized access to the company’s database that holds debit card customer’s balances. The prepaid debit cards do include a fraud protection policy that limits the amount cardholders can withdraw from an ATM with a 24-hour period. Also, once the balance on the cards is reached, the cards cannot be used until their owners put more money back onto the cards.

But these slick cyber criminals knew just what to do. They obtained 22 legitimate cards, eliminated each card’s withdrawal limit, and  cloned them, sending copies to conspirators in Greece, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. When the prepaid limit on each card got too low, the hackers simply reloaded the fraudulent cards remotely.

At the close of the business day on Saturday, March 5, the criminals began taking out money from ATMs. By Sunday evening, the scam was over, and the attackers had stolen $13 million.

Unfortunately, it is not clear who is behind the attack on FIS, although the characteristics of the scheme put it in line with similar
crimes perpetrated by cyber criminals in Estonia and Russia.

Cyber crime is becoming a huge threat to every country’s economy. Too bad these criminals can’t use their imagination for doing good instead of doing bad.

Leave it to the British to call out the First Family. No newspaper or media in the U.S. would dare talk about it. According to the Daily  Mail news article, our First Lady has spent this past year $10m in public money on her vacations.

What has she spent the money on – expensive massages, top shelf vodka and five star hotels. The Obamas’ summer break on Martha’s Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets. But this is the least of their extravagances. The Daily Mail has branded her ‘disgusting’ and ‘a vacation junkie. The ‘top source’ told the National Enquirer: ‘It’s disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.”

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel. Of course we’ve heard that the first family’s nine-day stay in Martha’s Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

The source continued: ‘Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favors martinis with top-shelf vodka and
has a taste for rich sparkling wines.

‘The vacations are totally Michelle’s idea. She’s like a junkie. She can’t schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next
– all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans.’ Now I know First Ladies usually have a cause that they promote, but making the First Lady happy is not what I expected.

While the President and his wife do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the website says that the amount paid by the couple is ‘dwarfed by the overall cost to the public’.

The magazine also reported that Mrs. Obama, whose fashion choices are widely followed, had been going on ‘wild shopping sprees’, much to the distress of her husband, who, its sources reveal, is ‘absolutely furious’ at his wife’s ‘out-of-control spending’.

What did the First Lady say about all of this – “let them eat cake!”

No not really, I made that one up.

Yes, you read the headline correctly. Recently, new workplace procedures and rules have been issued by the Labor Department. Employers who want to hire temporary agricultural foreign workers to perform sheep herding or goat herding have to follow these strict rules.

Strict rules that describe sleeping quarters, lighting, food storage, bathing, laundry, cooking and new rules for the counters where food is prepared. In Colorado’s High Country you can find sheep herders, from a South American country, tending their flock. You usually see one person with a horse and a dog taking care of the sheep. The shepherd usually has a small one room trailer for his accommodations.

However, with the new rules and regulations there must be separate sleeping units for each person except in a family arrangement. It must contain a comfortable bed, cot or bunk with a clean mattress. I never looked into the trailer to make sure that the shepherd had a “sleep number bed” but I assume he was sleeping on a small cot.

But it gets even better. Under the Obama Administration, the nanny state has imposed 75 new major regulations with annual costs of $38 billion. These regulations add more burdens to small businesses such as those run by ranching families. Instead of remedying the problem, the regulations make it much harder.

Take for instance; the new lighting standards required in areas where it is not feasible to provide electrical service such as tents or
mobile trailers. Lanterns must be provided and specifically “Kerosene wick lights meet the definition of lantern,” the regulations say. “When workers or their families are permitted or required to cook in their individual unit, a space shall be provided with adequate lighting and ventilation. Wall surfaces next to all food preparation and cooking areas shall be of nonabsorbent, easy-to-clean material.  Wall surfaces next to cooking areas shall be of fire-resistant material.”

Most of the shepherds you’ll find in the High Country are happy to have a small trailer to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. These shepherds have a good life living in the U.S. because they come from dire poverty from their countries in South America.

Thanks to new government regulations, will shepherds and goat herders be demanding Winnebago’s that include TV, microwave oven and showers?  If they do then they’ll need generators to make it all work. But wait, the noise from generators will scare  the sheep and goats away. Now you know what’s wrong with government intrusion.

According to Phillip Klein of The Washington Examiner, he thinks that Obama’s “specific plan” is just an outline.  Is Obama just trying to hype us up and not talking to us straight? “Well, there you go again,” as former President Ronald Reagan would say, all talk and no substance.

Klein deduced this by listening to Obama advisors Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod on the Sunday morning talk shows. “The president is going to outline a short-term plan to accelerate the economy,” Axelrod said on ABC’s This Week, “in the face of the hits we’ve taken, because of the Arab Spring and oil prices, because of the Japanese earthquake, because of Europe that have slowed down economic growth.

On Meet the Press, Gibbs used similar language, “The president is going to outline some ideas, the president has outlined ideas every day he’s been in the White House.”

I’m glad he has outlined ideas but where is those outlines on a napkin? If all he has is an outline with no specific plan to boost the
economy to create jobs and control our deficit, then we are all in big trouble!

This is priceless!

A car thief in New York stole a minivan but quickly returned it to its owner. Why did he do this? Because the best deterrent was in the car – two kids and a poodle!

Here’s what happened. The father of the two boys parked his minivan outside a store to buy a leash for his toy poodle. He left the vehicle running. That’s when the not so bright thief decided to steal the car. I say not so bright because a minivan is not exactly a hot car to steal, but I guess the thief was desperate.

But when the thief drove off with a yapping poodle and probably obnoxious kids in the car he changed his mind. The kids claimed that the thief was mad that there wasn’t enough change in the change tray to steal the car. I think it was that the thief decided that he couldn’t handle the chaos in the minivan.

But it gets better – the thief dropped the car off at the owner’s house and left on foot. Now that’s a polite thief isn’t it? Or maybe a
thief that realized that he was stupid!

What do they say about pay back being a b***ch! Well I guess Nancy Pelosi just got her pay back. At a recent town hall meeting in Oakland, California she was heckled several times in response to her vote on the debt ceiling bill.

But Ms. Glass Half Full said that the Democrats were able to get no cuts in entitlements in the deal. No that happened in Obamacare where they cut Medicare.

The crowd yelled “sell-out”, “why did you vote for the debt ceiling?” and “you voted for that Satan sandwich.”  According to the video most of the people who attended the town hall were either recently unemployed or have been unemployed for a while. I guess the “little people” are upset.

You can enjoy watching the short video of the meeting here.

Michelle Malkin is at it again! But this time she is disguising her bashing of Rick Perry with the reason that the Washington Post  wanted her to comment on her conservative concerns about Texas GOP Governor Rick Perry’s records.

If you want to read her latest article go here but to tell you the truth it isn’t worth your time to read it all. She claims that her criticism of Perry’s record was received with mixed feelings. She got heat for not falling in line with the latest GOP bandwagon. Some Texan readers defended him to the death out of what she calls “parochial loyalty.”  Oh my, doesn’t she have a sharp tongue? So
typical for Malkin you know. If you don’t agree with her you have “parochial loyalty” to your cause – give me a break Michelle!

But then she claims that the majority of responses have been positive. She further goes on to say that if we demand that Obama answer for the glaring discrepancies between his rhetoric and his record, we must do the same for our candidates.

What Malkin is missing is that Governor Perry has been very successful in creating jobs and growing the economy in his state. She can’t deny that almost half of the jobs created in the U.S. were created in Texas and by companies that received fantastic tax breaks to come to the state. More companies more jobs. Sounds like to me that Gov Perry cares about his state and his people in his state.

What more does she want? Perry to be a purist? We have a purist in the White House – a pure liberal/progressive and you see how that’s working out for us?

Michelle Malkin you have had a nice two day run with your comments so give Perry a break. As a matter fact, I rather read more articles from you co-writer Doug Powers. He writes straight forward and pithy – my kind of guy.
