First of all the final was long and boring, I wish it was shorter and right to the point. But the first shocker on the show was that William Levy and Cheryl came in third place. I never would have thought that would have happened. He was at least one or two.

I thought for sure that Katherine Jenkins and Mark would have won the trophy for sure. She had the presence of an entertainer and dancer but came in second place – shock, shock, shock!

But then when they announced the winner of Dancing with the Stars I was totally shocked. Donald Driver and Peta won the Mirror Ball Trophy!

I guess he peaked at the right time and the fans really enjoyed his performances. His final dance the cha cha cha was okay but the judges were generous with their scoring and gave all the stars 10’s for their dances.

I loved Katherine’ Jive, full of fun and energy. William’s salsa was good too but typical of his Latin background, he just did what he felt comfortable with.

So there you have it, Season 14 came to an end with a shocker ending of the winner of the Mirror Ball Trophy. I really think Katherine was cheated out of the trophy.

Next season they are bringing back former favorite stars to compete, we’ll see how that goes.

What a fantastic final on Dancing with the Stars.  All I have to say is Donald Driver made a “touchdown” with his free style dance. He had powerful lifts and great musicality and of course it didn’t hurt to have his family and friends wear “cheese heads” to spur on his dancing.  For the first time all season Len gave him a 10 and Donald got a perfect 30 for his free style dance. However, his Argentine Tango was not that great. It was too much Peta dancing and not enough Donald dancing. He ended the night with a score of 59

William Levy was predictable with his sexy moves and I found that his free style dance was a lot of lifts, bumping and grinding and shaking his booty. I know he’s sexy but that doesn’t make him a champion. His cha cha cha was more of the same as well. He ended the night also with a score of 59.

Then there was Katherine Jenkins. Would she come back from a down week last week? Was she physically fit to continue from her back strain? Of course! She is a true performer. Her Paso Dobla was awesome and she received a 10, the first from Len. Her free style dance was fun, full of energy and I loved it that they call her “The Welsh Wiggler.” I also loved it when she started the free style with her singing a few bars of the dance. What a beautiful voice she has. Carrie Anne said that she was a true Champion and I agree with her. She ended the night with a perfect score of 60.

So who will win Dancing with the Stars? Right now it is hard to tell. Katherine has been the most consistent except for a slight off week last week. She pushes herself to her limits and beyond. William Levy is the sexy star that can bump and grind and thrill the ladies. But Donald Driver has peaked and that is why it is hard to predict who will win. Donald Driver still has a chance to win the trophy but he does have a lot of competition between William and Katherine

My favorite is Katherine and I think she will win but we’ll find out on Tuesday night. Good luck to all of the finalist. Looking forward to one last great dance from all of them.

I’ve been watching Dancing with the Stars ever since it started seven years ago. For all those years I was able to pick who would be eliminated and once again I was right. Maria Menounos was eliminated just as I predicted.

Katherine Jenkins, William Levy and Donald Driver will be dancing next week for the Mirror Ball Trophy, once again as I predicted. It is sad though not to see Derek dancing in the finals but I think he needs some time away to get recharged and get new ideas for his dances. Once again Cheryl and Mark are in the finals and a newcomer, Peta, will be there. Will she be able to handle the pressure and get Donald Driver to perform at his best? We’ll see.

Tuesday’s night elimination was fun to watch and I especially enjoyed seeing Julianne Hough. But her singing and gyrating was rather weird. She is a good singer but I do like her better as a dancer. She also seemed pleased when asked how her “boyfriend” is doing – it’s Ryan Seacrest you know. I think she can do better but then as my mother used to say, there is no accounting for taste and you can’t pick them for anybody.

Next week are the finals so good luck to the stars and their professional dancers. Rumor has it that next season may feature previous stars – the most popular ones who didn’t make it to the finals. No names yet but rumor also has it that the ratings for DWTS is down and maybe this will spice up the show with familiar faces. Heck it worked for “Survivor” a couple of times maybe this will work for Dancing with the Stars.

Has this happened to you, you pick up the phone and immediately get a recording from “Political Opinions of America” asking you to take a survey? They even say that there is a reward if you answer these questions. Well forget about it – it is just a new scam by telemarketers.

According to an article on Fox News, companies are disguising their sales pitch as poll questions just to scam you out of your money as well as time. Here is how it works: An automated voice asks the recipient to complete a quick survey with questions like: “What’s the most important thing to restore our economy?” Other questions include: “How would you rate the job that President Obama is doing?”

After answering, the user is transferred to a live operator from “corporate travel services” who is giving away free cruises thanks to an anonymous donor. The offer allows up to four free guests and requires a $60 per person “port fee” to be secured by a credit card.

That alone should be a warning flag – never give out your credit card number to anyone soliciting to you. Hang up immediately or even better hang up when you hear that they are from “Political Opinions of America.”

But take heart, a Boston law firm is preparing a potential class-action lawsuit against a Florida-based The Berkley Group, which is behind the campaign. The law firm says, “When, one is offered a ‘free’ cruise, which is really designed to expose people to sales pitches for vacation timeshares. If you received such a call, you may have a claim against these companies, whether or not you paid them any money.”

FTC officials said to remember that if the purpose of the call is to sell something, its telemarketing and all rules apply. Simply adding a few questions about unrelated topics such as politics or weather does not constitute a bona fide survey. At least two similar “sham survey” ruses have resulted in enforcement actions against companies for such illegal calls.

Last night’s semi-finals on Dancing with the Stars was filled with great dances and drama, of course. William Levy danced the Tango and the Samba. Wow! Was his Samba hot, hot hot! As Bruno said his Samba was filled with bum-arama entertainment. He received a total of 58 for his dances.

Donald Driver danced a strong and lovely Waltz that Len said that he was rough, tough cream puff! That just about sums it up. His Samba had a cute story and he did well. He also received a 58 for his dances.

Katherine Jenkins was having a rough night last night. Her partner Mark misstep in their Quick Step lead to her misstep and her Salsa was terrific until she hurt her back. She was in tears because she couldn’t finish the performance even though it was at the end of the dance. I understand that she was getting back spasms and that was why she couldn’t finish her performance. First of all she probably wasn’t hydrating enough between dances and second of all her fabulous “belly dance” during the salsa was terrific but that would give anyone back spasms! Hope she can continue. With a day of rest and hydration along with a good massage and chiropractor I think she will be good to go. Unfortunately her total score was 56 the lowest for her this season.

Maria Menounos danced the Jive and Argentine Tango. The tango was good but I think some of her lines were not perfect enough. Also her Jive left me wondering what happened to all those sharp kicks and flicks. But the judges gave her a total score of 59, the highest for the night. She is a good dancer but I really think the men have it all over her. They are powerful but tender when they dance and she just seems to be like a rag doll in Derek’s arms where he can fling her around at will.

Bruno was feeling very generous last night. Out of the ten performances he gave out seven 10’s.  Carrie Anne was very picky and Len was just his grumpy old self.

Tonight we find out who will be eliminated. I once again must say that even though Maria has done very well, I don’t think she should be going to the finals. But then if Katherine cannot continue she may be eliminated and that would be a disaster.

Tune in tonight to see who is eliminated and I’ll give my opinion about it.

According to CNSNews article, “Pelosi: Her Catholic Faith ‘Compels’ her to support same sex marriage,” just makes me want to say OMG!

Here is an excerpt from the article:

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that her Catholic faith “compels” her to “be against discrimination of any kind” and thus for same-sex marriage.

A reporter asked Pelosi: “Many of the people that are opposed to gay marriage cite their religion as the reason why they’re opposed. You’re a Catholic that supports gay marriage. Do you believe that religion and the idea that you can support gay marriage can be separated? And how do you grapple with the idea that you support gay marriage as a Catholic?”

Pelosi responded: “My religion has, compels me–and I love it for it–to be against discrimination of any kind in our country, and I consider this a form of discrimination. I think it’s unconstitutional on top of that. So I think that yesterday was a great day for America because the president in a very personal, as well as presidential way, made history, and hopefully this will bring people together on the issue,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi also said that the president “went a long way” in shortening the difference between the “inevitable and the inconceivable” of the introduction of same-sex “marriage.”

She further said: “It’s a matter of time. It’s all about time. And on these issues, what is inevitable to some of us is inconceivable to others and what we want to do is shorten the difference between the inevitable and the inconceivable and I think the president went a long way in doing that yesterday.”

Love how she used the word “inconceivable”. This reminds me of the character from the movie “The Princess Bride,” who used that word endlessly. If you haven’t seen the movie, watch it because it is “inconceivable” that anyone uses that word anymore.

Nancy, Nancy what are we going to do about you? You claim you are a devote Catholic but then you say things like this? I really think she has some form of dementia or is it because she wants to just jump on the bandwagon for political purposes? She and Joe Biden should take a long hard look at their devotion to being Catholic. It may be time for them to change their religion.

During this political year, it seems that all kinds of things are coming out that the presidential candidates did in the past. Obama ate dog meat when he was younger, smoked pot and did cocaine in high school. But Romney “bullied” a kid in high school by cutting off his long hair.

What a crime of the century! Mitt Romney cut off the hair of a high school boy in his school. Well CNN just had to bring on a psychologist to help us understand this type of behavior. They were talking about the repercussions of bullying and how it affects the lives of adults – the bully and the one being bullied. What a bunch of hogwash! I’m sure we have had incidents in high school that we weren’t proud of but we turned out okay.

So for the sake of transparency, I have to make a confession from my high school years. It was my Senior year, in fact it was the last week of my Senior year. My friend and I were in study hall – yes they had study hall back then – and we were bored. So we were chatting it up like crazy. One of the teachers in the study hall told us to be quiet not once but three times. Of course, we ignored him because we were Seniors. As a result, we were told to stand in the corner for the rest of the study hall period. We were embarrassed and never went back to study hall because we ditched that class the rest of the week.

There, I said it and now I feel better. I know it wasn’t a bully incident but we were being undisciplined and rude and well just being Seniors. So now I won’t be able to run for higher office in this country because of this incident.

How ridiculous is this? But when you can’t find anything else to demean another candidate, I guess you have to go back to his high school years and maybe elementary school to find out “dirt” about a candidate. Hold on tight everyone, this election year is going to be nasty and dirty and downright idiotic. Focus on the what we the people really are looking for in a president and not what the main stream media wants us to pay attention to.
