I’ve been watching Dancing with the Stars ever since it started seven years ago. For all those years I was able to pick who would be eliminated and once again I was right. Maria Menounos was eliminated just as I predicted.

Katherine Jenkins, William Levy and Donald Driver will be dancing next week for the Mirror Ball Trophy, once again as I predicted. It is sad though not to see Derek dancing in the finals but I think he needs some time away to get recharged and get new ideas for his dances. Once again Cheryl and Mark are in the finals and a newcomer, Peta, will be there. Will she be able to handle the pressure and get Donald Driver to perform at his best? We’ll see.

Tuesday’s night elimination was fun to watch and I especially enjoyed seeing Julianne Hough. But her singing and gyrating was rather weird. She is a good singer but I do like her better as a dancer. She also seemed pleased when asked how her “boyfriend” is doing – it’s Ryan Seacrest you know. I think she can do better but then as my mother used to say, there is no accounting for taste and you can’t pick them for anybody.

Next week are the finals so good luck to the stars and their professional dancers. Rumor has it that next season may feature previous stars – the most popular ones who didn’t make it to the finals. No names yet but rumor also has it that the ratings for DWTS is down and maybe this will spice up the show with familiar faces. Heck it worked for “Survivor” a couple of times maybe this will work for Dancing with the Stars.

Has this happened to you, you pick up the phone and immediately get a recording from “Political Opinions of America” asking you to take a survey? They even say that there is a reward if you answer these questions. Well forget about it – it is just a new scam by telemarketers.

According to an article on Fox News, companies are disguising their sales pitch as poll questions just to scam you out of your money as well as time. Here is how it works: An automated voice asks the recipient to complete a quick survey with questions like: “What’s the most important thing to restore our economy?” Other questions include: “How would you rate the job that President Obama is doing?”

After answering, the user is transferred to a live operator from “corporate travel services” who is giving away free cruises thanks to an anonymous donor. The offer allows up to four free guests and requires a $60 per person “port fee” to be secured by a credit card.

That alone should be a warning flag – never give out your credit card number to anyone soliciting to you. Hang up immediately or even better hang up when you hear that they are from “Political Opinions of America.”

But take heart, a Boston law firm is preparing a potential class-action lawsuit against a Florida-based The Berkley Group, which is behind the campaign. The law firm says, “When, one is offered a ‘free’ cruise, which is really designed to expose people to sales pitches for vacation timeshares. If you received such a call, you may have a claim against these companies, whether or not you paid them any money.”

FTC officials said to remember that if the purpose of the call is to sell something, its telemarketing and all rules apply. Simply adding a few questions about unrelated topics such as politics or weather does not constitute a bona fide survey. At least two similar “sham survey” ruses have resulted in enforcement actions against companies for such illegal calls.

Last night’s semi-finals on Dancing with the Stars was filled with great dances and drama, of course. William Levy danced the Tango and the Samba. Wow! Was his Samba hot, hot hot! As Bruno said his Samba was filled with bum-arama entertainment. He received a total of 58 for his dances.

Donald Driver danced a strong and lovely Waltz that Len said that he was rough, tough cream puff! That just about sums it up. His Samba had a cute story and he did well. He also received a 58 for his dances.

Katherine Jenkins was having a rough night last night. Her partner Mark misstep in their Quick Step lead to her misstep and her Salsa was terrific until she hurt her back. She was in tears because she couldn’t finish the performance even though it was at the end of the dance. I understand that she was getting back spasms and that was why she couldn’t finish her performance. First of all she probably wasn’t hydrating enough between dances and second of all her fabulous “belly dance” during the salsa was terrific but that would give anyone back spasms! Hope she can continue. With a day of rest and hydration along with a good massage and chiropractor I think she will be good to go. Unfortunately her total score was 56 the lowest for her this season.

Maria Menounos danced the Jive and Argentine Tango. The tango was good but I think some of her lines were not perfect enough. Also her Jive left me wondering what happened to all those sharp kicks and flicks. But the judges gave her a total score of 59, the highest for the night. She is a good dancer but I really think the men have it all over her. They are powerful but tender when they dance and she just seems to be like a rag doll in Derek’s arms where he can fling her around at will.

Bruno was feeling very generous last night. Out of the ten performances he gave out seven 10’s.  Carrie Anne was very picky and Len was just his grumpy old self.

Tonight we find out who will be eliminated. I once again must say that even though Maria has done very well, I don’t think she should be going to the finals. But then if Katherine cannot continue she may be eliminated and that would be a disaster.

Tune in tonight to see who is eliminated and I’ll give my opinion about it.

According to CNSNews article, “Pelosi: Her Catholic Faith ‘Compels’ her to support same sex marriage,” just makes me want to say OMG!

Here is an excerpt from the article:

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that her Catholic faith “compels” her to “be against discrimination of any kind” and thus for same-sex marriage.

A reporter asked Pelosi: “Many of the people that are opposed to gay marriage cite their religion as the reason why they’re opposed. You’re a Catholic that supports gay marriage. Do you believe that religion and the idea that you can support gay marriage can be separated? And how do you grapple with the idea that you support gay marriage as a Catholic?”

Pelosi responded: “My religion has, compels me–and I love it for it–to be against discrimination of any kind in our country, and I consider this a form of discrimination. I think it’s unconstitutional on top of that. So I think that yesterday was a great day for America because the president in a very personal, as well as presidential way, made history, and hopefully this will bring people together on the issue,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi also said that the president “went a long way” in shortening the difference between the “inevitable and the inconceivable” of the introduction of same-sex “marriage.”

She further said: “It’s a matter of time. It’s all about time. And on these issues, what is inevitable to some of us is inconceivable to others and what we want to do is shorten the difference between the inevitable and the inconceivable and I think the president went a long way in doing that yesterday.”

Love how she used the word “inconceivable”. This reminds me of the character from the movie “The Princess Bride,” who used that word endlessly. If you haven’t seen the movie, watch it because it is “inconceivable” that anyone uses that word anymore.

Nancy, Nancy what are we going to do about you? You claim you are a devote Catholic but then you say things like this? I really think she has some form of dementia or is it because she wants to just jump on the bandwagon for political purposes? She and Joe Biden should take a long hard look at their devotion to being Catholic. It may be time for them to change their religion.

During this political year, it seems that all kinds of things are coming out that the presidential candidates did in the past. Obama ate dog meat when he was younger, smoked pot and did cocaine in high school. But Romney “bullied” a kid in high school by cutting off his long hair.

What a crime of the century! Mitt Romney cut off the hair of a high school boy in his school. Well CNN just had to bring on a psychologist to help us understand this type of behavior. They were talking about the repercussions of bullying and how it affects the lives of adults – the bully and the one being bullied. What a bunch of hogwash! I’m sure we have had incidents in high school that we weren’t proud of but we turned out okay.

So for the sake of transparency, I have to make a confession from my high school years. It was my Senior year, in fact it was the last week of my Senior year. My friend and I were in study hall – yes they had study hall back then – and we were bored. So we were chatting it up like crazy. One of the teachers in the study hall told us to be quiet not once but three times. Of course, we ignored him because we were Seniors. As a result, we were told to stand in the corner for the rest of the study hall period. We were embarrassed and never went back to study hall because we ditched that class the rest of the week.

There, I said it and now I feel better. I know it wasn’t a bully incident but we were being undisciplined and rude and well just being Seniors. So now I won’t be able to run for higher office in this country because of this incident.

How ridiculous is this? But when you can’t find anything else to demean another candidate, I guess you have to go back to his high school years and maybe elementary school to find out “dirt” about a candidate. Hold on tight everyone, this election year is going to be nasty and dirty and downright idiotic. Focus on the what we the people really are looking for in a president and not what the main stream media wants us to pay attention to.

It came down to eliminating two stars on Dancing with the Stars. This was a hard decision but it had to be done. All the stars performed great the night before but in order to keep this series to end soon, two people had to go.

I guess the producers decided to humble Katherine Jenkins last night because they announced that she was in “jeopardy.” Oh please, they had to put a strong dancer in there so people would watch the entire show. I just think it was a ploy and she really wasn’t in jeopardy at all.

But, just as I predicted, Roshon and Melissa were eliminated. Too bad, because truth be told, Maria isn’t the most talented dancer left. But she and Donald Driver, the up and coming dancer, William Levy, keeping him was a no brainer, and Katherine Jenkins, ditto, are in the semi-finals next week.

Last night’s Dance Center was pretty lame. I really didn’t find anything funny except for seeing Len’s pasty body and that was not for the weak of heart to see!

DWTS paid tribute to Dick Clark with the theme song from “Bandstand” playing endlessly and people dancing to it endlessly. I guess it was okay but I didn’t care for it very much.

Once again I’m going to predict the final three without even watching the last four stars dance – William Levy, Katherine Jenkins and Donald Driver.

Last night’s Dancing with the Stars showcased ballroom and Latin dances for the six remaining stars. It seems that the Fox Trot was the headliner dance. Melissa Gilbert, Roshon Fegan and William Levy danced the Fox Trot with William Levy receiving the highest score of the night a perfect 30. Poor Melissa Gilbert messed up at the beginning of her dance and for that the judges gave her a 24. Roshon Fegan’s dance was simple and not very complicated but that was all he needed to do to get a 29 for his Fox Trot.

Donald Driver’s Tango was very powerful and he was very good, even Len liked it. His score was a 27.

The two ladies, Maria Menounos and Katherine Jenkins who is a wonderful performer, both danced the Viennese Waltz. Katherine’s waltz was excellent but the judges didn’t like it very much and scored her with a 26. However, Carrie Anne and Bruno loved Maria’s waltz but Len wasn’t impressed with it because it didn’t have the hold sequence that is required in a waltz – I totally agree with Len on that one, the dance was too theatrical for me. But Maria came out with a score of 28.

The second round of dancing was a lot of fun to watch and really showed the talent of the stars along with the professional dancers. It was a “trio” dance where a star danced with two other professional dancers. Right away I saw what a difference another professional dancer makes to push the stars to perform better. Melissa’s samba was sexy, hot, fun and she did a great job with Max and his brother Val. I also noticed that the height difference between Melissa and Max is obvious. If you pair her with Val, Melissa isn’t stumbling or trying to reach out of her comfort level but looks great paired with Val. Val isn’t as tall as his brother Max and seems to be the perfect height for Melissa. So if Melissa is eliminated, I would blame it on the producers who have in the past not paired the stars with a pro that is the same height as they are.

Donald’s Jive was great and he has really come into his own these past few weeks. I hope he hasn’t peaked too soon.

Roshon’s Pasa Doble was good but I liked the comment from Len when he said that he was watching two skinny fries chasing the ketchup bottle.

William’s Pasa Doble was also very good and had a good story line where he was Zorro coming to the rescue of the fair maiden.

Maria’s samba was more of a Bollywood type of dance and not really a Samba. Len didn’t like it and neither did I.

Katherine’ cha cha was fun to watch. I thought it got a bit too busy .But at the beginning of the dance a piece of her costume was caught on her leg. But Katherine being a great performer continued on and at the right moment that included a kick, she kicked it off.

The elimination night will eliminate two stars. This is getting really hard to predict. All the stars performed at their top of the game. My preference for elimination is Maria and Roshon. Many of the dances Maria performed were gimmicks and not true ball room dancing and as for Roshon he has worked very hard but not hard enough to win the “mirror ball” trophy.
